Literature Text

“Ne, Sho-kun, why does my heart make a Doki-Doki sound?”

“Actually, Aiba-chan, The sound produced by the heart is a ‘Lub-Dub’sound. That sound is produced, when the heart pumps your blood. You see, the heart is separated into two halves, the left and the right. Each half is divided into two parts, the atrium, the upper chamber and the ventricle, the lower chamber. When the Ventricle contracts, the Atrium relaxes, this produces the ‘Lub’ sound. And when the Atrium contracts, and the Ventricle relaxes, this produces the ‘Dub’ sound. This process repeats about 100,000 times in one day and 35 million times in a year.”

“You’re wrong.”

“Wrong?”

“The answer is much much much much much more simple!”

“What do you mean?”

“I’ll show you . . .”

with that, the younger man leaned closer

and closer
